Beneath the Tree

Christmas Lights Flicker,
Sightless eyes beneath,
Arm outstretched,
Rigid.
Gold bulbs drip,
Tears of Red,
Floor splattered,
Stained.
Silver tinsel mirrors,
Yonder heavy moon,
Touched with Christmas red,
Ominous.
Santa Claus sighs,
Axe in hand,
Beard removed,
Bloody.
Fireplace glows,
Ribbons of gold,
Lifeless Flesh,
Naked.
Stockings hung,
Candy Canes and Teddy bears,
Flecked and matted,
Broken.
Door thrown back,
Whirls of snow,
Crimson footprints,
Silence.
